Wild!

What a ride.

Crouch managed to write a story that is fast-paced, thrilling and yet profound.

It’s the pure definition of sci-fi: how would technology X affect our lives? On every level. From an individual to a society, on a day-to-day basis or on a high philosophical plan.

I have many good things to say about this book, and very little issues with it. It’s is sad, fascinating, funny, deep, original, and a heck of a page turner. One of my best reads of 2020. I highly recommend it!

Not sure it’s my thing

First, I have to say that the art is superb, the book is worth reading for that alone. As for the story… meh. For some reason, I have a hard time connecting with the characters. Everything feels a bit forced. That is strange, as I usually like Rucka more than that…

Just beautiful

I can't get enough Darwyn Cooke. I recommend this book to anybody who even remotely likes his style.

He manages to capture movements and feelings in a way few artists can. His style is much more "cartoony" than Jim Lee's for example, but I find it more enjoyable and actually better suited for the stories he's telling. I'll take the New Frontier's art over Hush's anytime, but I understand it is a matter of taste.

This book has a few very interesting stories (I especially liked the ones on Jonah Hex) and superb art, including some beautiful covers. Really enjoyable, and a book that I'll go back to very often.

Classic story, good delivery

It’s an interesting storyline for anybody interested in those characters. It’s dated but still very readable. I recommend it to Batman fans.

A very good novel

The sci-fi elements of time travel are great in this novel. Imaginative, well thought-out and captivating. The characters are classic Asimov from the 50’s, a bit blank and cliched. But the pace is good, the story has a couple of nice twists and the little echo to the Foundation series in nice. In terms of sheer sci-fi, it is probably his best novel (from what I have read anyway).

It is dated, both in its treatment of female characters (although the ending alleviates that a bit) and obsession with nuclear war. But it didn’t prevent me from enjoying the book greatly, it is a product of its time and one should accept that.

It gets 4 starts instead of 5 because I wasn’t as taken by I as I was by some of his other novels. But I still recommend it very much.

A very enjoyable JLA book

I have never been a big fan of the JLA books (even though I'm a big fan of the JL and JLU animated series), but I have to say that I very much enjoyed that one.

The first two stories are OK, but also represent what I do not like about JLA: unfocused, jumping from one character to another, a meaningless villain, etc. However, when we actually get into the main story, it gets a LOT better.

The plot is interesting, if over-the-top (heck, it is JLA), Ra's is a villain I enjoy, the pacing is great, and the conclusion is smart. All in all, a fun superhero story, one I'll got back to once in a while.

Slightly disappointing

This statue from Kotobukiya is gorgeous, as usual. However, the fragmented design, while not noticeable when finally assembled, gives a cheap feel to the ensemble. Combined with the platform, that is supposed to be magnetized but the magnet inside is very weak, so there might as well be nothing. Disappointed by the overall quality but not by the sculpt, which is of the highest standard as usual.

MENAGE A 3 IS A FUN, LIGHT ROMP ABOUT TWENTY SOMETHING LIVING IN MONTREAL

Menage a 3 is about three roommates having complicated feelings for each other, trying to scrape a living in the streets of Montreal. A fun exploration of today's culture, where lines are blurred and meaning is often as flexible as people's sexual orientations. Playing a lot on situation comedy, using an art style that somehow manages to be reminescent of both Archie Comics of old and Japanese Manga, the stories are episodic, more or less one or two pages gags connected together by an overarching thread. The authors are clearly having fun with modern quirks and we do too! Recommended.

A fitting tribute to an oddball character...

Fans of Squirrel Girl such as me will love this amazing sculpt by Koto! They did such an amazing job! Expressive eyes, Tippy Toe and a bed of dead leaves for a base complete the setup. Squirrel Girl has grown in popularity in recent years and it is great and fitting that a character that started as a joke is getting the recognition she deserves. Koto's contribution is nothing short of a small masterpiece! Amazing rendition of a beloved character. Very happy with the purchase.

Superb Figurine, great quality!

Koto does amazing figurines, with an impressive amount of details for the size. While they are not huge, they sure pack quite a punch in the looks department. A mix of mangaesque naivete and dynamic poses and a great paint job makes for a fun and unique display. Not on the illustration, but a plastic base is provided, with the logo of the character, in order for the statue to stand on. Great job overall! Love it!
